This exhibition at the Dominican Convent, designed by the architect Pierre Pinsard, brings together a selection of artworks and furniture pieces by Berger&Berger within a remarkable architectural setting.

The Dominican Convent in Lille is a work of modern architecture, characterized by its mixed construction combining raw concrete and exposed brick. Some of the floors were built as a succession of hollow brick vaults stretched between concrete porticoes. The various buildings are arranged so as to incorporate planted outdoor spaces between them, forming islands of calm. The chosen composition—unlike the traditional layouts typical of this type of architecture—is open yet remains rigorous. The buildings are connected by covered cloisters and interior gardens, ensuring the silence and sunlight desired by the Dominican order.

For this exceptional architectural ensemble, furniture and artworks were designed at the time by creators such as Serge Mouille, Marcel Gascoin, Gisèle Fèvre-Pinsard, Gérard Lardeur, and Neil Hutchison. On the occasion of Design Week, these historical pieces are joined by furniture and sculptures that draw upon artisanal craftsmanship, creating new relationships with the architecture and the uses of the space. Most of these selected objects come from collective spaces realized through public commissions by Berger&Berger.
